I have Rochdale Borough Council, my colleagues and acquaintances to thank for the opportunities that have enabled me to become the legal professional that I am today.”

Rahna, who is shortlisted in the public service category, said: “It is a real honour to be shortlisted from such a talented field of people and it’s a great accolade for Rochdale Borough Council to have two people going for awards.”

Steve Rumbelow, Chief Executive of Rochdale Borough Council, said: “It’s fantastic that two members of our staff have been shortlisted for awards that recognise the very positive role Asian professionals play in our national life and a credit to Rahna and Rifat’s contribution to the council and the borough of Rochdale.”
