A second Springhill Hospice relaxation CD
Date published: 11 August 2015
Winning Front Cover Relaxation CD Springhill Hospice August 2015, design by student nurse Sophie Smith
Counsellors at Springhill Hospice have recorded a second CD of relaxation and meditation exercises. The first CD, which was recorded in 2013, proved to be popular with patients.
Relaxation has many proven benefits.
It can help to:
- Reduce tiredness
- Improve performance
- Reduce pain
- Cope with stress and anxiety
- Improving self-confidence and benefitting personal relationships
On this CD there are two tracks, one to help to settle the restless mind, which can help the listener to manage worrying thoughts, and the other to help to restore balance and energise the body.
patients and volunteers in the Day Hospice were involved in the project by having a competition for the cover design for the CD case. They took part in a relaxation exercise beforehand to get them in the mood and to provide inspiration for their designs. The winning cover was designed by Sophie Smith, a student nurse on secondment at the Hospice.
A donation of £5 is requested.
