St Clement Church Summer Fair

Date published: 09 August 2015

St Clement Church held their annual summer fair on Saturday (8 August).

The event included stalls, afternoon tea and cake and a raffle.

Rev Karen Smeeton said: “It is one of our more popular events and we are really pleased with how it has gone.

"We will be happy with whatever money we raise from the event.”

Money raised from the event will go towards the upkeep of the church.

Karen added: “Sadly with old buildings they need a lot of upkeep so any money that we manage to raise will go towards anything that we need to do in the church.”

St Clement Church was designed by architect Lewis Vulliamy and was completed in 1835. It is closely linked with the Rochdale Pioneers who founded the Cooperative movement.
