The ‘Roch Ness Monster’ spotted at Hollingworth Lake!

Date published: 06 August 2015

The corpse of a monster-size creature was spotted by Myron Szymanskyj on Monday (3 August) as he walked around Hollingworth Lake with his friend.

He said: “To me it just looked weird. We were walking along the lake and I just happened to look to my left and saw it. I thought that the mouth looked the wrong shape to be a fish that would swim in that lake.”

After photographing the beast, Myron then posted it online to show off what he had seen.

“It has gone mad,” he said. “It has just gone everywhere now and it is still going. I never thought I would be the person to take a picture and it go viral.”

The photos have sparked debate as to what the creature actually is.

Myron added: “Loads of people have said it is a pike but I am no fisherman. To me it just looks weird.”

Many people commenting are adamant that the beast is the corpse of a pike. Pikes are regularly found in the reservoir and have been known to grow to more than 4ft.

Pikes can grow up to 150cm long and can weigh up to 25kg. While they normally feed on smaller fish species, pike are known to turn on each other when food is scarce.
