Ella, from Whitworth, won a bronze medal for table tennis, a bronze medal for the tug of war, which she did with Jeremy Kyle and was awarded a trophy from her team mates for her achievements, as well as her team being crowned winners of racquet sports.

She also won the hearts of everyone in attendance after crossing the finishing line without using her walking frame during the obstacle course.

Ella’s mum Karen said: “We are just so proud of Ella. She did such an amazing job. There have been so many firsts for Ella in the past twelve months, but to see her competing in sports is not something I thought I’d see and to get medals and trophies was such a surprise.

“It was such an emotional and humbling experience seeing everyone together, all who wouldn’t be here without organ donation.

"We can’t wait until next year’s games.”
