Four men ran from a car after being pursued through Littleborough by police on Tuesday afternoon.

The black Astra was first spotted on Halifax Road, Rochdale and was pursued by police, before making off at speed

The car was then spotted on Whitelees Road, Littleborough at around 3pm, but due to the number of pedestrians around and a school being nearby, police halted the chase for a short time.

As the car flew along Whitelees Road, it knocked wing mirrors off cars parked nearby.

The car then made its way up Salt Drive where the occupants, four men, abandoned the car and made off on foot.

It is understood that the police dog team conducted a search and the car was removed from the scene.

Police confirmed that enquires are ongoing.
