Sports Day Friday 10 July
All children will take part in Sports Day tomorrow. Please can children come to school in their uniform and get changed into their PE kit and their coloured T-shirt: Assheton – Red; Bamford –Blue; Langley – Yellow and Wood – Green.
9.15 a.m. for Nursery and Reception; 10.30 a.m. for Y1 and Y2; 1.30 p.m. for KS2 ( Y3-6 )
Parents/carers/grandparents etc are invited to watch all the events which will take place on the school field.

6 a-side- Cricket tournament at Elmwood Primary School
Tuesday 14 July
Year 6 trip to Laser Quest and Pizza Hut
Celebration Assembly at 2.40pm
Year 6 Leavers’ Event – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Wednesday 15 July
Middleton Schools’ Rounders final at Alkrington Primary School
Thursday 16 July
Leavers’ Assembly at 10.45am – Parents/carers of Year 6 children are invited to the assembly. Year 6 children will finish school at 12 noon. All other children finish at 3.15pm.
School closes for the summer holiday and re-opens on Thursday 3 September.
Celebration Assembly
Celebration Assembly will moved from tomorrow to Tuesday 14 July at 2.40pm because of Sports ay. Parents/carers will be sent text messages if their child is being presented with an award.
Alkrington Primary School After School Club
In last week’s newsletter I explained about the after school provision being set up to begin in September and run by school staff.
A letter has been sent out to parents and is available on our website, along with more information.
If you would like to request a palace at Breakfast or After school Club, or both, you will need to complete a form and return it to the school office. Places are limited and are filling up quickly, so be quick to avoid any disappointment. This applies to existing school
Breakfast Club users as well as new applicants.
Awards Evening
Well done to those children who were chosen as winners from each class and were invited to receive their award at the Awards Evening on Tuesday, earlier this week. I will provide a list – along with the winner’s inY6 – on the school website at the end of term and with a newsletter early in September.
After –School Clubs / Music Lessons
There are no After-School Clubs or music lessons next week – please collect your child at 3.15pm. Thank you.
Happy Days will be running as normal.
Attendance Ted was won by 2E who had 99% attendance last week.
On Time Ted was won by 6L - who had no children late for school – Well Done.
Dinner Money and Breakfast Club fees
As we break up on Thursday next week dinner money will be £8.20 and Breakfast Club £6.
Dinner money for Year 6 will be £4.10 as they are only having school dinners on Monday and Wednesday.
Cream Teas
The PTA will be serving Cream Teas during the last week of term so come along and treat yourself.
The dates are: Monday 13 July; Tuesday 14 July Wednesday 15 July; 3.30pm in the school garden. Tickets are £4 each, available from the school office.
Board Games
If anyone has any board games in good condition that they no longer want please could you send them into school. We are intending to set up boxes for each class to use during wet play.
Be Seen in Green Day
Many thanks to everyone who sent donations for The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. We raised £495.85. This total includes £82.57 raised by Maisie Cramp (Y5) with her stall at our Summer Fair.
Rainbows
Is your child aged 5 or 6 years old? Would they like to join Rainbows?

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in August at Alkrington Primary School
Week 1 – 4th/5th/ 6th August
Week 2 – 11th/12th/13th August
Week 3 – 18th/19th/20th August
Week 4 – 25th/26th/27th August
£12 per day or £30 for the full 3 days (3 days to be in the same week).
