Students successfully complete Developing Leadership courses

Date published: 08 July 2015

Students who have successfully completed the Developing Leadership Level 2 and the Community Involvement Level 1 courses at Multicultural Arts and Media Centre have received certificates awarded by Open Awards.

One of the students, Yasmin Bhati, said: “I think it helps us coming from different backgrounds picking up different skills and consolidating it all together so it’s wonderful that everyone is giving a lot of input. We learnt from each other and being an effective team leader will show we do need different skills which we have obtained over the years we can use those transferable skills consolidate them and be an effective team leader. This course is brilliant”.

Carlo Schröder, Near Neighbours Coordinator (North West), said: “I was really pleased to see that the participants understood the purpose of the courses which was not only to improve yourself but also to improve by working together with others, forming friendships between different faith communities, ages and abilities.

The participants had clearly become friends and therefore learnt about their different cultures and faiths. This has been clearly demonstrated by participants volunteering at MAMC’s and their own organisations community events”.

Mohammed Sarwar, CEO of MAMC, said: “We are extremely delighted with the commitment and team work of everyone involved in the courses. The tutor, Tom Carr, provided excellent subject knowledge."
