Red-Aid held their second annual fun day on Friday (3 July) and raised £2,000.

Held at Redwood Secondary School, the event included stalls filled with cakes, plants, toys, books and home-made pottery.

There was also a visit from Heywood Fire Station, two Disney princesses and Manc Riders Café Racers, as well as face painting and a BBQ.

Students with various physical and learning difficulties from Redwood School attended and took part in workshops including street dancing by JD Dance, ‘Dance for All’ by Amanda, Skylight Circus activities and Taiko Drumming by Gill.

Visitors and students also had a fantastic time celebrating the 70th Anniversary of VE Day with cream teas and music by Lancashire Belle accompanied by some 1940s dancers. Students also had a fantastic time trying on different army clothing brought by Mr and Mrs Mills from Heywood.

The charity was also presented with a cheque for £496 from the Manc Café Riders who rode in on their motorcycles. The group have been raising money for Red-Aid by completing a national challenge.
