Q Gardens Open Day

Councillor Richard Farnell (centre) with volunteers at the Q Gardens Great Garden Open Day
Q Gardens, the community allotment on Kirkholt, staged an open day for residents to find out more about growing their own fruit and veg and eating healthily.
Several volunteers signed up to join the gardening club.
Local councillor Richard Farnell said: "Q Gardens is a great success and it's all down to a great bunch of volunteers.
"Scores of residents get dug in every week to grow their own fruit and veg and flowers.
"It's a great way to keep fit, meet new friends and to learn to eat healthily at a fraction of the price of food in the shops."
To join the gardening club, just turn up at Q Gardens at Queens Drive any Wednesday or Sunday between 12 noon and 3pm.
