Date published: 03 July 2015
Councillor Allen Brett has been appointed as the Chairman of the Ellenroad Trust.
Following his appointment as Chairman, Councillor Brett, who was a founder trustee, is there for the interim and has pledged to increase membership and increase visitor numbers.
He said: “If all of the people in Milnrow, Newhey and Ogden were to visit who have told me that it is on their to-do list, then numbers would rocket.”
The Ellenroad Trust was established in 1985 to ensure the preservation of Ellenroad Engine House and engines.
The next steaming day at Ellenroad is Sunday 5 July.
