Rochdale Feel Good Festival is looking for more local acts to perform during the event.
Stage 2 – a smaller outdoor stage new for 2015 - will be showcasing local singers, dancers, musicians, theatre and more.
There are 25 fifteen-minute slots available on Friday 4 or Saturday 5 September. Music acts will be supplied with the backline and a professional PA system.
All performances must be suitable for the festival’s family audience.
Councillor Janet Emsley Cabinet Member for Culture, Health and Wellbeing at Rochdale Borough Council said: “Stage 2 is where we showcase the best of the borough. Rochdale Feel Good Festival has a real street party atmosphere and we’re looking for acts who are up for some fun. Last year we had some great performances and we’re looking for more this time. Musicians, comedians, dancers, singers, poets, theatre - whatever your talent, we’d like you to get in touch.”
If you would like to be considered for Rochdale Feel Good Festival and you are from the borough, email events@rochdale.gov.uk saying who you are, what you do and why you would like to appear.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming more local acts to the stage and helping them show their talents to a wider audience.” Councillor Emsley added.
This month submissions for the festival’s ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition will be added to the festival’s Facebook page, before the top six who get the most ‘likes’ go forward to a judging panel who will decide on who performs on the main stage.
Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September, for another showcase of entertainment, food and culture. Music acts already confirmed for the main stage include The South, Toploader, Kirsty Almeida and The Uplifters. Celebrity chefs including Rachel Khoo, Kevin Woodford, Aazam Ahmad and Andrew Nutter will host live cooking demonstrations throughout the event, which will also include the popular food market.
The summer festival is funded by Rochdale Borough Council together with sponsorship from local businesses including The Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale Football Club, o2 Rochdale, Link4Life and The Royal Toby.
