Your Rochdale meet and greet

A Rochdale-based social media group that has over 3,000 members in nine months held a meet and greet today (Saturday 27 June), giving the chance for members to meet up and get to know each other.

‘Your Rochdale’ was set up to give people a place to have a “fair say about any subject relating to the town”.

Brenda Marie Costello, one of the administrators of the group, said: “The group was started by John Nokes after a number of us were banned from another group. A lot of our members are people who have been banned from this other group.”

From its humble beginning nine months ago Your Rochdale currently has 3,061 members.

“We are a friendly group and yes it does get heated sometimes but we allow everyone to have their opinions and discuss what is going on,” added Brenda.

Today’s meet up saw a number of those members meet at The Baum.

Brenda added: “We just wanted to give people the chance to get together and meet each other properly and it has gone really well.”
