Andrew Nutter to join Feel Good Festival celebrity kitchen stars

Date published: 25 June 2015

Local celebrity chef Andrew Nutter will be cooking at this year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival. The flamboyant chef will be appearing in the Celebrity Kitchen on Friday 4 September.

Andrew has had a fascinating career since coming runner up in the National Junior Cook of the Year competition aged just 13. Seven years later he launched ‘Nutters’ Restaurant, which soon expanded into the 18th century manor house it occupies in Norden. He has won multiple awards, including Lancashire Chef of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, and the Courvoisier Award. He’s a regular on radio and on television and hosted his own Channel 5 series ‘Utter Nutter’.

Last month, he was amongst an elite group of international chefs who were flown in to showcase their talents at the Kuala Lumpur Big Kitchen Festival. He works alongside the main supermarket chains, promoting regional and local produce and has helped raise over £100,000 for charity since first opening his Rochdale restaurant. He’s always a favourite at the world’s major cookery events.

Andrew will be joined at the festival by previously announced chefs Rachel Khoo, Kevin Woodford and Aazam Ahmad. Music acts on the line up already include The South, Toploader, Kirsty Almeida and ska band The Uplifters.

He said he is delighted to be back at Rochdale Feel Good Festival: “It’s great to be part of such a fun and uplifting event that celebrates all that is brilliant about Rochdale. I can’t wait to entertain the crowds with some fantastic and exciting dishes, which everyone can try at home.”

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September, for its eighth year, promising another incredible showcase of entertainment, food and culture. There will be live music across indoor venues a main stage sponsored by The Flying Horse Hotel and a second outdoor stage. Celebrity chefs will host live cooking demonstrations throughout the event, which will also include the popular food market.

The summer festival is funded by Rochdale Borough Council together with sponsorship from local businesses.
