Parents and staff at Meanwood Sure Start Children’s Centre celebrate Breastfeeding Awareness Week
Staff and parents from Meanwood’s breastfeeding support group got together for a morning of coffee, cake and chat at Meanwood Sure Start Children’s Centre on Monday, to kick-off Breastfeeding Awareness Week.
Run by the centre’s breastfeeding champion Emma Davies in partnership with health visitors from Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, the group offers new and expectant mums practical breastfeeding advice and encouragement.
Emma Davies said: “Our group is open to anyone who fancies a bit of a natter and a cup of tea while learning how to breastfeed. It’s a really relaxed, friendly atmosphere and we’ve got plenty of mums on hand that can offer support to anyone considering breastfeeding but not sure how to start.”
The breastfeeding support group runs from 10.30am - 11:45am every Monday at Meanwood Sure Start Children’s Centre.
