Fly tipping on Stiups Lane

Date published: 23 June 2015

Fly tipping on Stiups Lane, which is becoming an annoyance to local residents, is due to be cleaned up this week.

The fly tipping has already been brought to the attention of local councillors and MP Simon Danczuk, with the campaigners saying their aim is to 'expose Greater Manchester councils who are apathetic to criminal fly tipping'.

A spokesperson for Rochdale Borough Council said: “We will be sending officers to the site this week so they can start removing this waste. As part of this process, they will be looking for evidence of who the perpetrator is so they can prosecute them at a later date.”

Anyone who sees fly tipping or littering is asked to report it to Rochdale Council on www.rochdale.gov.uk/flytipping or via 0300 303 8884.
