Middleton Rotary raise £320 for Prostate Cancer
Members and friends of Middleton Rotary Club joined together on Saturday 20 June for a ‘Bikeathon’ at Sainsbury's Heaton Park store.
The event was part of a Rotary initiative for clubs across the whole of the UK to hold cycling related events over the weekend to raise funds for prostate cancer.
The aim for the Middleton cyclists was theoretically to cycle from Middleton to Newcastle, 137 miles, on an exercise bike. They didn’t achieve the full distance on the day, travelling about 80 miles.
