Springy's Moonlit Sprint or Stroll

Date published: 18 June 2015

Springhill Hospice mascot, Springy the Frog is taking very seriously his duties for his very first event, Springy's Moonlit Sprint or Stroll at 9.30 pm on Saturday 4 July.

Alongside Zumba expert Becky Smithies, Springy will be making sure all the participants will be warmed up and ready for the 10k circular course, starting from Rochdale's Ruby Union Club, Bamford.

This week he's visited the team at Pure Gym to get some expert advice and take part in a fitness class with some of the staff and members of the gym.

Assistant Manager Sara was only too happy for her team to don one of the event's bespoke onesies and put Springy through his paces for a good cause.

"We've created an event to suit all ages and all ages, you can Sprint or you can Stroll. The common goal is to have fun and raise money for the Hospice at the same time." said Springy's spokeswoman Lillie Winterbottom, Community Fundraiser at Springhill.

The Hospice is hoping, or should we say hopping, that Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood will jump at the chance of a good night out.
