Steve Lister, had his work in the community recognised by the Queen when he was invited to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
He is founder and chairman of Littleborough Events and Associations Forum (LEAF), which organises cultural and social events in Littleborough such as the Rushbearing Festival, Farmers' Market & Craft Fair and the Christmas Lights Switch-On.
Steve said, "It was a great honour to represent all the hardworking people who strive to make Littleborough a vibrant and exciting place to be.
"Hildred, my wife, and I had a wonderful and eventful afternoon meeting many interesting people whilst we took afternoon tea in the palace gardens.
"There were people there from numerous countries around the world, many in national dress, along with members of the armed forces, civil servants and members of the clergy.
"We were thrilled that so many members of the royal family were there, the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, Camilla, Edward and Sophie.
"Later we had the opportunity to stroll around the extensive grounds, which was a real treat as we both enjoy gardening."
