Mill fire in Whitworth
A mill fire on Market Street, Whitworth last night (Tuesday 16 June) was a deliberate fire started in rubbish behind the mill.
Fire crews put fire out using backpack water spray with breathing apparatus.
Comments from residents confirm this is an ongoing problem with the old mill, one said: ‘Seriously they need to do something with this site before someone gets hurt’.
Another resident added: ‘Sadly the mill needs to come down’.
