Pennines In Bloom members promote the ‘flowery’ and beautiful parts of the area
Pennines In Bloom, which now incorporates Littleborough and Wardle In Bloom, has existed for four years, and is composed of like-minded volunteers who have banded together to promote the ‘flowery’ and beautiful parts of the area.
Volunteers collaborate across the local areas of public, private, academic and community sectors to develop and deliver local projects which enhance the environment by the installation of hanging baskets, saddle planters, and individual planting schemes linked to themes and local heritage, such as the Katie and Daisy planted boats linked with the waterways, design planting themed with Le Tour de France and World War I plus works of art such as the Wishing Tree in Milnrow, sponsored by local businesses.
The group also benefits from combining efforts with local parks and other groups in continually improving local gardens, streets and community areas as well as the countryside and the lake in general.
The group has ideas and plans for 2015 but needs and welcomes new input and ideas, sponsorship and new volunteers.
