Woman sexually assualted

Date published: 05 June 2015

Police are investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted in Middleton.

The 33-year-old woman was approached by a man as she stood outside Tesco Express on Park Road.

He walked up to her before sexually assaulting her. She managed to push him away and run inside the store before he left in the direction of Middleton Gardens.

The assault took place at around 5.55am on Saturday 14 March 2015 and now the police are circulating an image of a man they would like to speak to.

The man is described as being black, in his mid 20s, slim to average build with short afro style hair.

Detective Constable Nick Price said: “We have circulated the image on our own internal computer system but unfortunately, the person has not been traced.

“I would ask people to take a good look at the person in the picture and if you recognise him to call police. I would also make a direct appeal to the man himself to come forward so we can eliminate him from our investigation.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 8701 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
