Travel advice for The Courteeners at Heaton Park

Date published: 04 June 2015

If you are one of the 25,000 gig-goers heading to see The Courteeners at Heaton Park on Friday night make sure you plan your journey for a hassle-free evening.

It’s easy to get to Heaton Park from anywhere on the Metrolink network, with frequent tram services on all lines.

Heaton Park is next to the Heaton Park Metrolink stop.

Metrolink will be running extra trams before and after the concert and people are advised to expect queues for journeys back into the city.

If you’re heading beyond the city be sure to check when your last train or tram leaves and expect tram services to be very busy.

Passengers must have a valid Metrolink ticket before travelling, which are available from ticket machines at every stop.

Heaton Park is also served by local buses from Bury, Middleton and Oldham with a frequent service to/from Manchester city centre.

Before and after the show, shuttle buses will operate between Bury Old Road and Shudehill interchange in the city centre. For more info on bus services visit www.tfgm.com

For people getting a lift, Sainsburys Heaton Park, located on Heaton Park Road, M9 0QS, is the official drop off and pick up point.

The only official event car park is located at the Heaton Park Lakeside car park, off Sheepfoot Lane, M25 0BW. Payment is £10 in cash on arrival.

There will be designated hackney and private hire ranks close to Heaton Park.
