A charity dinner held and organised by CEO, has raised money for the Ghulam Mustafa Trust and Palestine.

Organised by CEO co-founders, Nabz Mustafa and Amran Muhammad, a voluntary group in Rochdale, the event was held on Friday 22 May at Castlemere Community Centre.

Over 100 people attended and guests enjoyed a three course meal.

Local sellers set up stalls to sell cupcakes, scarves, sweets, Arabic calligraphy and Islamic goods.

The event started with an explanation of the work done by CEO as well as the work done by the Ghulam Mustafa trust and where the money raised from the event will be used in Palestine.

CEO co-founder Nabz Mustafa said: "Brother Jamal then began with the recitation of the holy Quran followed by Hafiz Mizan, a Nasheed artist from Oldham.

"As Ramadan is just around the corner, Brother Saqib gave a speech about Ramadan and provided more information. Nasheed artist Ismail Hussain from Bradford then performed with the performance described as 'unbelievable' and 'one of the favourites on the night'.

"Brother Luqman has been to Palestine so spoke to those in attendance about his experiences and about his recent visit to Gaza and how money was spent to help people.

"After the guests enjoyed their food, which included samosas, roast chicken, rice, lamb curry, chick pea curry, naan bread and sweet rice, Brother Jav, who has published a story book, provided information about its content and availability.

"Nasheed artists, Brother Abdullah from Bradford and Hafiz Kofi Sultani from Birmingham, who are very well known around the UK, then took to the stage and entertained the crowd until the very end.

"The evening then ended with a raffle in which over 100 tickets had been sold.

“Overall the night was a success and we would like to thank everyone who made this possible and contributed. CEO volunteers played a vital role and also made this event a huge success.”
