Date published: 02 June 2015

Celebrity chef, actor and presenter Kevin Woodford will be cooking at the Feel Good Festival. The television chef and food writer will make his debut in the festival’s celebrity kitchen on Saturday 5 September.

Kevin trained in some of the world’s finest restaurants before launching his television career, where he is known for hit series including ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’. His lively personality, cheeky charm and relaxed style made him a household name, entertaining millions all over the world during a hugely successful career.

He first hit the screen as a regular contributor on ITV1’s flagship ‘This Morning’ and went on to be a team member on ‘Ready Steady Cook’ and presenter of ‘Can’t Cook Won’t Cook’, ‘The Holiday Programme’ and ‘The Heaven and Earth Show’.

He’s also an accomplished actor, appearing in programmes including ‘Doctors’ (BBC1), Hollyoaks (Channel 4) and was voted Best Daytime Presenter at the National Television Awards. His irrepressible sense of fun has made him a popular guest on other programmes including ‘Countdown’, ‘Celebrity Weakest Link’ and ‘Through the Keyhole’.

He’s a best-selling author too, with numerous books under his belt, including Kevin Woodford's 60 Best Holiday Recipes, published last month on Kindle.

Councillor Janet Emsley Cabinet Member for Culture, Health and Wellbeing at Rochdale Borough Council said: “It’s fantastic that Kevin Woodford is going to be joining us, he’s one of the most popular chefs of his generation and I know he’s a real entertainer who makes cooking fun so it’ll be a real show.”

Kevin will be demonstrating his cooking skills in the food tent at the festival on Saturday 5 September. He’ll also be meeting fans and signing autographs.

Pop rock band Toploader are already on the bill for the main stage with more acts to be announced this month.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September, for its eighth year, with organisers promising another incredible showcase of entertainment, food and culture. There will be live music across indoor venues, a main stage against the backdrop of the town hall and a community stage. Celebrity chefs will host live cooking demonstrations throughout the event, which will also include the popular food market.

The summer festival, which celebrates its eighth birthday this year is funded by Rochdale Borough Council together with sponsorship from local businesses.
