Students have been turning recycled materials into fashion accessories, inspired by the work of Cornelia Parker.
The students were taking part in a project called ‘Urban Relics.’ They were tasked with creating their own relic, by recycling materials and transforming them, just like the artist Cornelia Parker has been known to do.
Brimming with enthusiasm, the students were eager to get started. They created a spectacular head piece made out of plastic ties, bottles, straws and wire amongst other things.
Annette Houghton, lecturer at Hopwood Hall College, said: “The students produced a really original, innovative design that looked fantastic and fulfilled the brief in every way. They achieved a very high standard and their work was exemplary.”
