Rounders Catholic Cup

Our year 10 girls took silver at the Rounders Catholic Cup. They batted and fielded strongly throughout and fought together consistently as a team but unfortunately lost out on gold to Loreto grammar school in the final. Congratulations to all girls on making it to the final.

Rochdale School’s Cup

The Year 7 rugby team made it to the final of the Rochdale School’s Cup which was held at Spotland Stadium. Unfortunately for the boys they just missed out on lifting the trophy, losing to Wardle in a closely fought contest. Best for St Cuthbert`s was middle back Harvey Holden who carved out 2 tries in the first half and a hat-trick in the second stanza. Well done to all students involved.

The Rochdale Schools 6-a-side competition

Continuing the impressive end of season, the Year 8 football lads were in action last week in The Rochdale Schools 6-a-side competition, held at Falinge Park High School. Fresh from being crowned champions of Rochdale school's division two the previous week, the smaller squad went into the tournament with bags of confidence. They worked tirelessly through the first few games, eventually securing a place in the knock-out rounds. Continuing in the same form, the lads then won their quarter-final and semi-final before beating on penalties in the final, Jack Gaffney with the all-important save. What is even more impressive is the fact that the lads went through the whole tournament as top goal scorers and without conceding a single goal. An excellent way for the lads to finish the season and a huge well done from Mr Lockett.

Quadkids

Congratulations to our ‘Quadkids’ athletes won the regional round of their event. Pupils took part in long jump, the vortex throw, the 800m and a 100m spint. Collectively their scores beat all the other schools. They now go forwards to represent Rochdale in the Greater Manchester Finals.

PE Roll of honour trip

This year we will be ‘bouncing’ off to ‘Jump Nation’ to reward those pupils who have made a fantastic effort in their PE lessons, or during extracurricular activities. Work hard and play hard and you could be invited!
