Driver in a rush to get to the services as he was tired, somehow managed to walk away from this
A driver had a miraculous escape and walked away from a road traffic accident with only minor injuries after his car was left unrecognisable following a collision with a lorry between junctions 19 (Heywood) and 20 (Rochdale) on the M62 on Friday (15 May) morning.
The man was taken on a spinal board from the scene, as a precautionary measure, to The Royal Oldham Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
His Fiat Punto was left with the bonnet torn off, the left side wheel folded back on itself and the windscreen completely smashed.
Police confirmed that a breath test conducted on the man was negative.
North West Motorway Police stated that the man was uninsured and was facing six points on his licence and a fine.
