Chip pan fire at house on Molyneux Street, Rochdale
Date published: 16 May 2015
Fire crews have told a family that they were lucky to escape a chip pan fire at their home on Molyneux Street, Rochdale.
Crews were called to the address at 11.05pm on Thursday (14 May) after the family, which included two children aged four and six, had managed to get out of the house.
A woman had fallen asleep and had woken up to find the chip pan on fire.
Fire crews stated that the family had been lucky and if the woman had been asleep for five minutes longer, things could have been a lot worse.
Crews from Rochdale and Littleborough attended the incident and extinguished the fire. They were on scene for around 45 minutes.
