Cash and cigarettes stolen in Drake Street News break-in

Drake Street News was broken into with the offenders making off with cash and cigarettes.

The burglary occurred sometime between 4pm on Friday 8 May and 6.15am on Monday 11 May, with the offenders gaining entry through the roof.

Gillian Cunningham from Drake Street News said: “I had gone away for the weekend so it happened when I was gone. The pantry for the cigarettes was completely empty and there is a big hole in the roof.

“I think it has finally hit me today what happened.”

Police have stated that enquiries are ongoing but no arrests have yet been made.
