Balderstone High School class of 85’ reunite after 30 years

Date published: 12 May 2015

The Balderstone High School class of 85’ reunited on Saturday (9 May) after 30 years.

Organised by class member Lyndon Holt, the reunion saw around 38 former pupils come together.

Lyndon said: “It was an absolutely fantastic night. It was really nice to catch up with people. We were all a really close year so it was nice to come together again and see everyone."

The class usually reunites every five years to celebrate big anniversaries.

Lyndon added: “We tend to only do it for the bigger anniversaries because I think if we did it every year then people would get bored.”

The night included an 80s themed disco and an auction which raised money to help a class member start a rounders club.

“The older brother of a girl in our class recently passed away so we did a raffle and an auction to raise money for her to help her start a rounder’s club in his memory. All together we raised £260 so that was a nice touch and a nice thing for her,” added Lyndon.

The class will next get together again to celebrate their 35th anniversary.
