Police divers carry out search in Rochdale canal

Police divers carried out a search in an area of the Rochdale canal (lock 50 off Oldham Road) on Tuesday 5 May 2015 - an item believed to be involved in an assault on 10 April 2015 was recovered from the canal.
The search was linked to an investigation by GMP's Major Incident Team into the death of a 40-year-old man who was found dead at a house on Cheap Side, Rochdale on Monday 4 May 2015.
Police enquiries are ongoing.
