Play equipment installed at Digby Road playground... ten years after it was built!

Date published: 05 May 2015

New play equipment has finally been installed at a children's playground, ten years after it was built!

The playground, along with a kick-about-pitch, was first put up over a decade ago on land behind Digby Road on Queensway, but no play equipment was ever installed in the specially-constructed playground.

Councillor Richard Farnell said: "I couldn't understand why there was a specially fenced-off playground, but no play equipment for the children to play on.

"I set about raising £17,000 for a climbing frame and slides and, better late than never, it's finally been installed. And the children love it."
