Heybrook School make a 'forest'
Date published: 01 May 2015
For Arts Week, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children all worked together to make a tunnel out of willow in our woodland area.
They weaved fabric, ribbon and paper through the structure and made a dome at the end.
Each year group made a large animal that stood at the end of the tunnel.
Classes then took it in turns to go out into the forest, play in the tunnel and toast marshmallows over a fire.
They took dinosaur books and toys outside for the children to read inside the dome.
It was based on the book 'The Tunnel' by Anthony Browne.
