'Springy', the Springhill Hospice mascot can be purchased in the Rochdale Online Department Store
The Hospice to Hospice walk has been described as “fantastic” by the fundraising team. The annual walk saw over 300 walkers turn out to support the Hospice.
Will week takes place between Monday 18 May and Friday 22 May. The Hospice has a list of solicitors who will put a will together for you, but will waive their fee if you give a donation to Springhill Hospice in your will.
This year the Hospice has received support from people taking part in this year’s Manchester Marathon. So far 40 individual Hospice supporters have pledged their support for the Hospice by taking part in the run.
David Golden will be setting off on his fundraising adventure from Littleborough to John O’Groats on Monday 4 May.
Joan Davies was crowned this year’s Woman of Rochdale at a special luncheon last Friday (24 April). Joan was given the award for her continued work with young people across the borough.

Go Green Day
The number of people getting involved for this year’s Go Green Day is increasing by the day. People are currently booking Springy visits with events also taking place the week before the official day.
Rochdale Hornets have a special offer in place for their game against Oxford on Saturday 16 May. By using the code ‘gogreen’ when buying tickets, supporters can save £2 on adult and concession tickets. Springhill Hospice will also receive a donation from every ticket bought. Rochdale Hornets have also been given permission by the Rugby League to wear their green away kit at the home game.
Rochdale Cricket Club will also be going green. Recruitment Solutions have sponsored their kit. Springhill Hospice will receive a donation of £5 for every kit sold.
Dates for the Diary
Sunday 7 June
Traditional Country Fete
Held at Rochdale Riding Club Showground, the fete will be a traditional fete that will include dog shows, hawk and owl displays, donkey rides, face painting, a Punch and Judy show, traditional fun fair and a circus workshop.
Saturday 4 July
Springy Moonlit Sprint or Stroll
The Hospice is hoping to encourage supporters to dress up as Springy for this walk and are offering Springy onesies to those who get involved. The walk is a 10k walk and frogs will set off from Rochdale Rugby Union Club, Bamford at 9:30pm. The entry fee is £18 with a bespoke frog costume and medal included.
