Police News - Rochdale North

Inspector Michelle Hughes says: "It’s been a busy week again for Rochdale North Neighbourhood Team. We remain dedicated to support victims of domestic abuse and continue to tackle burglary and vehicle crimes.

"On Thursday 29 April a lady returning to her home address suddenly felt ill and breathless. Two Police Officers from Rochdale Police Station were present on her street due to an unrelated matter and immediately went to her aide checking her pulse and breathing and stayed with her until she felt in control of her breathing."

Sentences

Imjad Khan (38yrs) and Gul Zaman (42yrs) from Rochdale have been sentenced due to committing serious sexual offences on teenage girls.

Peter Drummond (62yrs) of Holbeck Avenue, Rochdale was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment at Minshull Street Crown Court.

Vehicle Crimes


This past week has seen a sudden increase of motor vehicle crimes such as theft from motor vehicles and theft of motor vehicles. Most vehicles targeted left property on view.

Inspector Hughes said: "We will do everything in our power to apprehend the offender(s) and bring them to justice.

"We remain dedicated to our on-going investigations and charges are likely to follow for a variety of offences committed on our wards."
