Severe delays on M62
An accident between junctions 23 and 24 of the M62 is causing traffic chaos in Rochdale.
The westbound carriageway and two lanes of the eastbound carriageway of the motorway have been closed due to a serious accident involving two lorries and a van.
One of the drivers has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. A second man has minor injuries.
Diversions are in place and delays are described as 'severe'.
It is understood that work to repair the central reservation is likely to take most of the night.
However, it is hoped that the westbound carriageway will re-open after 8pm.
West Yorkshire Police are advising people to avoid the area if possible.
