Beech House Easter bonnet competition
The finalists of the Beech House Easter bonnet competition.
The Upper Prep pupils spent the week make and preparing their headwear for the 'Grand Parade'. They gave the judges a difficult decision but the winner was Isabella Chapman in Year 5. The runners up were Holly Gaucas (Year 5 ) and Milly Hussain (Year 4).
Year 9 pupils went to Bury College for an afternoon of Science and Engineering Lectures.
The first was Visual illusions given by Dr R. Robinson to explain how engineering links into illusions and medical assessments. She also explained the black and blue/white and gold dress!
Next up was Starchaser Industries 'The Sky is Not the limit', a Cosmic a Chemistry Show. Steve explained how the Universe works and Space. He told the pupils about holidays in space - can't wait! He also explained the reactions in the Sun and the Northern Lights. With explosions of Hydrogen, making a Comet, auroras of plasma and Rohan dancing with balls.
The Upper Prep swimming team of Abbie Slater, Daniel Rigg, Mia Greenwood and Sophie Wilkinson, participated in the ESSA North West finals held at Everton Park. They were only 0.2 seconds away from reaching the National Finals, finishing in 4th place in both their races.
The House Point totals are:
