Inspector Steve Hanlon: "We have experienced an increase in burglaries where vehicles are being stolen. Entry has been gained at several of these burglaries because the front door was not locked. Please secure your windows and doors even in the warm weather. Also please do not keep your car keys near to your front door.
Some of our neighbourhood officers have been working with PCSO's from GMP Traffic on Hollin Lane and Manchester Old Road.
A number of people were spoken to and offered advice.
Some Traffic Offence Reports were issued for offences such as excessive speed, using a mobile phone and allowing a child (baby) to be a front seat passenger without a seatbelt.
Of the 3,814 vehicles which passed through the automatic number plate recognition camera none of them flagged up for no insurance.
