Heywood Lions Club celebrate 42 years of serving the local community
Heywood Lions Club celebrated 42 years of serving the local community at the Best Western Broadfield Park Hotel.
Lions President Janet Brown gathered friends of the club, as well as guests from other clubs, along with fellow members, and welcomed them to a birthday lunch in celebration.
Other guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Lions District Governor Barry Collins, Lions member Erica Collins, and Heywood Rotary President Edwin Partridge with Mrs Elaine Partridge.
Steve Brown, Secretary for Heywood Lions Club, said: “I really enjoyed it, it was like our own little birthday party. The meal was lovely and it was nice catching up with some old friends.”
Janet presented cheques to the Mayor for her appeal fund and to fellow Lion Erica for her chosen charity LIBRA, the Lions International Blood Research Appeal, which helps people with blood cancers and other serious disorders with treatment.
