Firefighters called to same stretch of land four times to deal with fires

Firefighters were called to a stretch of land next to the East Lancashire Railway in Heywood, four times on Monday (6 April) to put out grass fires.
Beaters were used to extinguish the fires, which were along a mile long stretch of land off of Stanbury Close, Heap Bridge.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were called at 12:56pm, 2:00pm, 3:30pm and 4:42pm and that they have spoken to East Lancashire Railway about the problem.
