Trees set alight by youths

Trees were set alight by youths in Norden yesterday evening (Monday 6 April).

Fire crews were called to an address on Somerset Grove at 8:32pm to what they described as a “small fire”.

Fires were also started on Lynwood Drive were teenagers were seen fleeing the scene, after conifers were set alight in the front garden of an elderly lady’s home.

It is understood that the fires burnt out quickly with some damping down undertaken on the smouldering trees.
