Steven Parker launches Morris Minor e-magazine

Date published: 03 April 2015

An e-magazine based on the classic car, the Morris Minor, has been launched by Steven Parker.

Steven decided to launch the magazine after getting the idea whilst in WH Smith.

He said: “I was in WH Smith looking at magazines and I saw that you could get all of these magazines for cars but I couldn’t see any about the Morris Minor. I then thought why not and went away and came up with this idea. I went to see a business adviser and he seemed really positive about the idea, so then I had to actually go away and plan it all out.”

Steven has had an interest in Morris Minors for a number of years and described the classic car as “always being around” when he was growing up.

He added: “The Morris Minor was sold all around the world and something like 1.6 million cars were sold. I think it is the second most popular classic car in the UK.”

Steven then enlisted the help of a web design team to get the e-magazine off of the ground.

The Minor Times was launched on 1 March 2015.

“We have had people accessing the magazine from all over the world. People in the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Portugal and many of the places where the car was sold. We have only been live for a month, but it has gone down really well,” said Steven.

The magazine will be updated on a regular basis and will contain articles about a variety of subjects and will include pieces written by a variety of writers.

“Morris Minor enthusiasts are the nicest people ever,” said Steven, “so I have got contributions from a variety of people.”

Based on the early success of Minor Times, Steven now has plans to launch other magazines in the future.

He said: “I don’t want to give too much away but I have plans for another magazine on a different car. At the minute, it is great to see this idea come to life and see that it has gone from a seed of an idea in WH Smith to live with people accessing it all over the world.”
