Police re-appeal for witnesses

Police are re-appealing for witnesses after a man died following a collision in Rochdale.

Police were called to the junction of Bury Road and Sandy Lane in Bamford shortly before 4.40am on Sunday 9 November 2014, to reports of a collision.

When officers arrived they found a white Audi A6 S-line had collided with a grey Audi A5 Sport.

A man, 25-year-old Joseph Brown-Lartey who was driving the Audi A5, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men have been charged in relation to the incident.

Addil Haroon (25/02/96) of Essex Street, Rochdale has been charged with death by dangerous driving, causing death whilst unlicensed and uninsured and perverting the course of justice. He was also charged with an offence of dangerous driving in relation to an incident the night prior. He will appear at court on Thursday 16 April 2015.

Shahruckh Fayyz (08/12/1995) of Crescent Road, Manchester has been charged with driving a motor-vehicle without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a license. He will appear at court on Tuesday 21 April 2015.

Police Sergeant Harrison White of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This was a tragic incident in which a man sadly died.

“We still want to speak to people who may have been at scene but are yet to come forward, so if this was you I would urge you to please call us.”
