Littleborough Arts Festival gears up for 2015

Littleborough Arts Festival held their Annual General Meeting on Thursday at Ebor Studios on William Street.

Chairman, Richard Cafiero, presented a cheque for £600 to Julie Halliwell from Springhill Hospice.

Julie thanked the members for their support over the past 14 years and spoke about the work of the hospice as well as the opening of their new tea room.

Littleborough Arts Festival will take place from 22 to 30 August at Littleborough Coach House. The festival features a packed itinerary of craft workshops, art exhibitions and musical performances.

Last year, the festival expanded to include live music performances at other venues around Littleborough, including St Barnabas Church and Littleborough Sports Centre at Rakewood.

Speaking at the meeting, Richard Cafiero said, "Last year's event was an outstanding success and we hope to build on that for this year.

"People have told me they actually plan their summer holiday around the Festival dates so they don't miss it."

Treasurer, Alan Mellalieu, awarded trophies to the winners of the photography competition.

  • 1st place -Andrew Hoyton
  • 2nd place - Ellen Kershaw (accepted by David Woodhead)
  • 3rd place - Phil Seed
  • Guest judge prize - Peter Hook

The Arts Festival has achieved charitable status and is required to have members. Membership is free of charge and members will receive a regular newsletter, access to special members-only events and preview evenings.
