The Petrus Community Green Gym which supports Petrus service users and volunteers to engage in gardening activities in the local community have signed a partnership agreement with Rochdale Council to take on the maintenance of several raised beds in Rochdale Memorial Gardens.
The Leader of the Council, Richard Farnell said: “We are pleased that Petrus are working with the Council to help maintain and improve the Memorial Gardens which have a high profile.”
The Green Gym team have been working at the gardens since last summer and have planted raised beds with edible plants such as fruit shrubs, strawberries and herbs as well as working on the sensory garden beds.
