Ladykillers documentary starring Janet Dixon to air next week

Date published: 21 March 2015

A documentary about female pest controllers, which stars Janet Dixon, a pest controller from Milnrow, will air on Wednesday 25 March.

The programme, which will focus on Janet and four other pest controllers, will follow the women as they travel across the country tackling infestations.

Speaking about filming, Janet said: “I was really apprehensive about it at first but once we got going I got into it and enjoyed it. I forget that the cameras were there by the end of it all.”

The Ladykillers will show pests from bed bugs to rats, from wasps and foxes and offer advice on how to get rid of them.

“I hope it will show people that pests are a problem for everyone. Anyone can have a problem with pests. I also hope it brings more females into the industry because there aren’t many female technicians doing this job,” said Janet.

The programme will be four one hour episodes.

Janet added: “I will sit down and watch it because I haven’t seen any of the footage. The only thing I have seen is a short trailer so I am looking forward to seeing what they have done with it all.”

The first episode of the programme will air on 25 March at 8pm on BBC2.
