Vibe Youth Music broken into and laptop stolen

Date published: 19 March 2015

Vibe Youth Music, which is located at Champness Hall, has been broken into and had a laptop stolen.

The break in is believed to have occurred sometime between 12.30am on Monday 16 March and 12:30am on Tuesday 17 March.

Jamie Connolly from Vibe Youth Music, said: “A laptop was stolen but it is not about the laptop, it is more about what was on the laptop. I have been working on a charity single for Cystic Fibrosis with The Social Leftover, which is due to be released in May and everything for the single is on that laptop.”

It is understood that the offender then went back to the premises on Wednesday (18 March).

“When I have come into work this morning, I have seen them but because I couldn’t keep them in the building, they haven’t been arrested,” added Jamie.

Police were called at 9.58am after a worker heard someone in the building.

The offender is described as a white male in his late 20s, medium build with short dark hair or a skinhead. He was wearing dark navy or black tracksuit bottoms, a dark jumper and a long dark coat.

It is believed that he entered the building through the front door.

Enquiries into the burglary are still ongoing.
