Inspector Michelle Hughes said: "Priorities this week continue to be around reducing burglaries and ensuring we continue to support victims of domestic violence.

"This week our officers have been getting involved in number of different activities, on Thursday we carried out an operation on Yorkshire Street, following requests from local residents. As part of the operation two vehicles were seized, and a number of people were dealt with for various offences.

"On Saturday 7 March our officers joined local residents and community groups in Wardleworth to take part in a community clear up day. Speaking to the residents, they seemed to enjoy it and it is a great way of engaging with local people and building community relations."

Recent Arrests

"This week we have made a number of arrests for a variety of offences, as ever we continue to target offenders and support victims of crime

"It is not practical to list all arrests, however,  a number of arrests are highlighted below.

A 25-year-old male was charged with aggravated vehicle taking, vehicle damage, kidnap and driving without insurance following his arrest on 12 March 2015. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court.

A 40-year-old male was arrested on warrant earlier this week having failed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court. He was remanded in custody and appeared at court on 11 March 2015.

A 41-year old-male was charged with burglary and criminal damage following his arrest on 12 March 2015. He has been bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates on 1 May 2015.

A 17-year-old male has been charged with robbery, harassment and criminal damage. He has been bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Youth Court on 26 March 2015.
