Can you fit a carpet at Hare Hill House?

Date published: 10 March 2015

Volunteers at Hare Hill House are looking for someone who can fit a carpet for them – by the end of this week.

The team of volunteers who are working to restore Hare Hill House need the carpet fitting by the end of the day on Sunday (15 March), as a large company have offered to support them and their work at the house for use of the council chambers.

Peter Reed said: “We have got a carpet that was donated to us by West Pennine Carpets and Littleborough Carpets have donated the underlay to us and that is
fantastic but now we need someone to kindly come and donate their time and fit it for us. The council chamber is due to be used soon so we need it all sorting out as soon as possible really.”

The current carpet in the council chamber is threadbare and is looking a bit worse for wear.

The new carpet needs to be fitted as soon as possible so volunteers can prepare the council chamber to be used and make the room fit for purpose.

“If we are going to do this then we want to do it right so it all has to be done properly and look good at the end of it,” added Peter.

If anyone can give up their time to fit the carpet, Peter would be able to open Hare Hill House up during the evening if that is easier and is offering help of
volunteers if it is needed.

Peter said: “If someone wants to come in the evening and just get it done then we can open up for them and people will be there to give them a helping hand.”
The area that needs fitting is approximately 30x20 ft.

Anyone who thinks they can help fit the carpet can contact Peter on 07885 584004.
